My dad still uses cloth napkins! I started using my sterling silver every day, it was my moms. I love China too. I love antiques but it can look old and fussy so I like modern clean lines. I also adore Southern Living

I love that your dad still uses cloth napkins! I’m a big believer in enjoying the “good stuff” and not saving it for special occasions. I also like to mix in more modern pieces with my antiques to keep things feeling fresh and balanced.

My grandmothers style was more eclectic and folksy!! Handmade quilts and afghan throws, mix and match dishes!! She also had this melamine speckled bowl that I think about all the time…I have found a few and buy them every time!! Also corelle dishes!! I have my great grandmothers set and I’ve added my own favorite patterns to the mix!! I definitely have my grandmothers style!!!

I adore melamine speckled bowls! I think I would’ve loved her style. Mine leans eclectic too. My aunt (on my dad’s side) is a prize-winning quilt maker, and I have quilts she’s made all over my house. I’m positive I would’ve loved your grandmother’s home!

I got it from my northern mom but I keep spoons in a goblet that is called, I think, a spooner. The spooner is old and beautiful in its old way and heavy. I love it and it sits beside my Jura coffee machine that we originally bought reconditioned about 15 years ago. And when that stops working right I send it back to Jura for a ridiculous amount of money to be reconditioned again. Someday my grown daughter’s will do the same. And cloth napkins… always have and always will.

You’re exactly right! My mom used that word, “spooner”! I also adore cloth napkins, and we use them every night—lots of laundry!😆

Well now I need spoons in a jar on the counter. I keep my cooking spoons and spatulas in my grandmother’s silver ice bucket. The spoons will go very nicely next to it!
